What exactly does Toning mean?

Let's start with what a Toner is not. Often, Toners are said to rebalance your skin pH. Your skin pH is a result of the skin's acid mantle, a mixture of sebum (skin oils) and sweat that form on the surface of your skin. This acid mantle keeps the pH of your skin at about 4 to 4.5 (low pH like 1 to 5 is acidic, high pH 8 or above is basic, and the middle, around 7, is neutral.) Anyway, this slightly acidic pH is a good thing on your skin because it helps ward off harmful bacteria.

become's products are very balanced and so they never knock you off the pH beam. If you aren't unbalanced to begin with, then you certainly don't need a product to bring you back.

With become, to 'tone' the skin means to clean and tighten the pores, making it harder for irritants, dirt and stress to negatively affect the skin complexion. become's Age Resistant Spray Toner acts like a seal for your pores after cleansing and lessens the chances of blackheads and breakouts. How? It is powered by the super ingredient DMAE. DMAE is an anti-oxidant compound. An anti-oxidant is a substance that reduces, neutralises and prevents damage caused by free radicals, which are simply electrons no longer attached to atoms. DMAE minimizes pores and tones and tightens the skin. This firming wonder agent is known as the "facelift in a jar" and is officially FDA approved for these properties.
