To what layer do become Products go? And how does this compare to other brands?

Become Age Resistant skin care Products contain active ingredients that penetrate different layers of the skin. They work at a cellular level by going deep into the skin where they have a job to do. Our active ingredients work simultaneously at several levels. For example: if the function of the product is to stimulate collagen synthesis by stimulation of fibroblasts the active ingredients penetrate to the dermis level. If the product is designed to exfoliate upper layers it shouldn't go that far. Become Products are different from other brands because they are designed to work at a cellular level to repair the skin and slow down the ageing process.

What makes our Products so much better than other brands, more expensive brands and brands that cost less?

What does the testing involve for the become line from start to finish?

Each material has its own characteristics - some are temperature or light sensitive, some like a more acidic or alkaline environment while some others can only coexist if paired with certain other ingredients. The procedure of making the product is complex. Due to the different characteristics of ingredients they have to be added at the stage suitable for them. The easy way to illustrate this is making a comparison with cooking a soup. To make a good soup you have to know the ingredients, when to add them and sometimes also in what order. Some have to be cooked for a long time while others added at the end, when the product is ready to serve. Become Products are alcohol free, why do we list a number of different types of alcohol in our ingredients?

There is a great variety of different alcohols, nature-based or chemically made. Their characteristics are very different; so are their functions. The alcohols used in become Products belong to the so-called 'fatty alcohols' group; they are moisturising and protective to the skin. They are derived from vegetable oils and fats.

Do become Products have any animal-based ingredients in them?

Yes, We have three:
Albumen (egg whites) present in The Lift Powder.
Hydrolyzed Collagen (marine-based) present in the Color Therapy Masks.
Whey Protein present in the Meal Replacement shakes (bovine- derived)

Why do we list 'Parfum' in our ingredients?

Parfum contains essential oils (and not alcohol like perfume does), which are known not only for their smell but also for their healing and nourishing properties.

How long will one bottle or jar of become product usually last me?

Our Products are pharmaceutical grade and have higher concentrations of ingredients than Products that most people are used to working with. What this means is that less is more! A little goes a long way which is just one of the reasons why become Products are great value. In addition to hygiene reasons, most of our Products are in pumps so that small measured doses are administered, rather than customers tipping a bottle upside down and 'pouring' out huge amounts thereby wasting their Products. You will see on the back of the bottles, jars and tubes a symbol of an open cap with a 12. This means that from the day you open the product, it is most effective for 12 months.

Is there oil in your moisturisers?

Yes, our oils are therapeutic and non-comedic (do not block pores). Our Day Cream contains Jojoba Seed Oil that protects and nourishes the skin, Borage Seed Oil which is an anti-inflammatory and Grapefruit Peel Oil which is uplifting and refreshing. Our Night Cream contains Rosehip Seed Oil that soothes and nourishes the skin and Borage Oil which is an anti-inflammatory.

How do I minimise age spots and scars?

Age spots and scars, from a treatment perspective, have a lot in common - the goal being you want to reduce the appearance of them and stimulate the growth of new skin cells. Peptides stimulate the production of collagen and the production of new skin cells - by using the Age Resistant Day Cream and Night Cream you will receive a premium dose of pro-elastin and pro-collagen peptides. In addition, regular use (every other day for normal skins and 3 x per week for sensitive skins) of either of our exfoliators, Age Resistant Face Smoothing Gel or Reveal Enzyme peel will reduce the appearance of scars and age spots. Why do some of the Products (e.g. Spray Toner, Lip Treatment, Eye Cream) have a slight sting to it when you first apply it?

The sensation felt indicates the product activating on your skin. Not everyone experiences the sensation though; this is due to differences in skin sensitivity.

Can I use become Products during my pregnancy?

Always check with your Doctor before introducing any new Products when pregnant. During pregnancy avoid using the Body Toner Moisturiser on the stomach. The peppermint is pharmaceutical grade and very strong, some ladies might find it too stimulating. You can rub it on your feet and legs; it is very soothing for swelling and stressed limbs. You will find our facial Products very effective, especially as pigmentation can occur during pregnancy. Our Age Resistant line will help even skin tone, as well as brighten and tighten the skin.

I'm undergoing chemotherapy. What Products should I avoid and what Products can I use?

Due to their high potency the following Products are not recommended while the skin is experiencing this level of trauma: Spray Toner, Eye Cream and Lip Treatment. The following Products are recommended to use as they are very hydrating, soothing and healing: Creamy Cleanser, Reveal Enzyme Peel, Hydration Serum and the Color Therapy Masks.

How often can I use the Age Resistant Hand Smoothing Complex?

You can use this product every other day. Keep it by the kitchen sink where you wash your hands so you remember to use it! Don't forget this product is great on the feet too.

Can people with sensitive skin use become Products?

Yes they can, please see our see our Sensitive Skin Care Program. At become we believe that the aging skin is by nature a sensitive skin. Because of this approach we have paid particular attention to removing any possible allergens from our Products by sending them through a 'spinning' process. This greatly decreases the likelihood of an allergic reaction to our Products.

Regarding become sun care Products. Is it true that there are two different types of sunscreen, one that soaks into the skin and one that sets on top of the skin? Which one gives more protections and why?

The issue is quite complex. Generally sunscreens are divided in two categories - so called 'synthetic' sunscreens and 'physical' (or inorganic) sunscreens. Generally, the 'synthetic' sunscreens are light in texture and absorb into the skin, while physical sunscreens are slightly heavier and they stay on the surface of the skin. The amount of protection provided is illustrated by the SPF level as well as information on UVA protection (UVA rays are ageing, UVB rays burn). Every 'physical' sunscreen will have a certain level of UVA protection but this is not the case for the chemical sunscreen. According to the existing data 'synthetic' sunscreens often produce allergic reactions in many people while physical sunscreens are generally very skin friendly.

Why doesn't the Age Resistant Day Cream have an SPF in it?

SPF ingredients can overwhelm delicate anti-aging active ingredients making them less potent if stored together in a jar. The Day Cream is a 'treatment' product whose focus is to minimise the signs of aging - we do not include an SPF to ensure that it is super effective. What Products does become have for the treatment of cellulite?

I've been using the entire Figure 1st Products faithfully; I have been experiencing a lot of gas - is this normal?

Yes, gas is one of the body's ways of eliminating toxins including fat. It is a sign that you are losing weight! Not everyone will experience an increase in gas when they are losing weight, but many will.

Is there a shelf life for the Products?

Once Products are opened, it is recommended that they are used within 12 months. This is subject to storage and handling though. If the Products are exposed to high temperature or light for a prolonged time their potency and shelf life will be reduced.
